Case Studies

Here are a sampling of the many types of projects Bristol Environmental has completed:

  1. Internationally recognized perfume manufacturing facility in New Jersey.
  2. The work area in their facility consisted of various sized tanks and equipment. The asbestos containing materials were located in the suspended drop ceiling, the pipe insulation and the spray- on fireproofing on the deck and beams. Due to the product's highly flammable nature, no spark could be allowed in the work area, so a special 10,000 square foot leak-proof scaffold was constructed, creating an isolated work area and special explosion proof equipment was brought in. As working in this facility required specialized equipment and work procedures, BEI has become the contractor of choice.

  3. A Federal building located in Washington, D.C.
  4. A substantial portion of this contract was the complete abatement of an active central utilities plant. Work had to be coordinated with the complex's utility needs, other trades, and the General Contractor's schedule for other work. Work included removal of an asbestos containing floor tile, pipe and duct insulation, and interior demolition.

  5. State-owned facility

Removal of asbestos and containing fireproofing, as well as contaminated floor tile and mastic, thermal insulation, and the interior demolition on three floors of the former Pennsylvania Transportation and Safety Building.
The entire site treated as a hazardous waste site. A special consideration for the project was an extremely tight time schedule required for completion.

  6. Chemical Manufacturing Facility
  7. When an internationally known chemical facility was forced to shut down it's New Jersey operations, BEI was called in to complete the asbestos remediation. Over 12 miles of pipe, several towers reaching heights of up to 120 feet, and 20,000 square feet of vessels, all wrapped with asbestos insulation with a metal jacketing for weather proofing, is being removed and disposed of in an EPA approved landfill within a very strict time frame. Whether the job requires 10 or 100 men, whether the time frame is urgent or long lead; BEI has broad resources to draw upon when required.
